In the second image you can see the specular highlights through the mesh.

Is there something I am doing wrong?

It looks like part of the cornea is in front of the eyelid. Is it still clipping when rendered with subdivision?

It shows even through the head, walls… any geometry at all.

I have an Nvidia 1070 with current drivers, I tried all of the transparency/alpha tags but nothing seems to work.

The problem goes away when I switch to low-quality transparency but it looks a lot worse though.
