Getting Particles to Floolow Normals

The volcano, in the previous post, shows two lava trails that I'd like to develop. In this attachment, the mesh is a closed curve of one of the trails with the mesh's normals rotated to the direction of flow which is along the length of the mesh.

How do I get particles to follow the path in the direction of the normal?

You can do it with a point cloud in a popvop.

If you look at Yader's example file you should be able to unpick it
