Houdini alembic wont render in MtoA

Hi guys,

Odd question that I can't find the answer to anywhere. I have a single alembic file export from Houdini to be read into Maya. The animation works fine when I play through the timeline. But when I go to render in Arnold in Maya, it only renders frame one no matter what frame i'm on in the timeline. I checked my render settings already and I have the frame range set.
I got it to render correctly only one time, but I can't get it to do it again. I didn't change anything, just stop rendering the animation. I've flushed caches.
is there a setting or something i'm missing?

I found it. make sure export vertex colors is checked on in the arnold tab of the animation. Happy renders!
