hi I am working my way through the rocket tutorial in 8.1

when i go to set shadow shader under the light's illumination tab…
i hit the plus button and get the dialog script…and it says “no dialogs defined”

i am supposed to be able to pick fast shadows…but there is no option for it.

is my install of 8.1 corrupt, or is the tutorial missing something

What exact Houdini version do you running, including minor number?
What OS?
I can't reproduce it on 8.1.666 on Linux.
As a temporary workaround for you to continue the tutorial, you may just write down “fastShadow” in a field near “+” you pressing…

i'm using windows xp sp2
and i'm build 8.1666

i did try writing that in the feild, but no shadows resulted
I am having other problems besides this….

for instance in the next step they direct you to set up a shop network…
in the network pane, if i press tab and pick shop network nothing appears..
i have to press tab in the veiwer, and pick shop network, then it appears in the network pane….
when i go into the shop network, the same thing happens…i try to select a vex metal in the network pane, and nothing appears, nor does it appear to work when i try it from the veiwer….
very buggy…

i am using an AMD athalon xp, and a regular ATI 9600….
