Hi folks,
I wanted to try the new renderman support for Houdini 17.5
After installing the trial version I edited the env file (image attached).
But even after loading in everything I am getting the error when I hit the render button.

error: Output driver not supported in Houdini Indie

what am i doing wrong?

Not at work but I think that's the error RM throws when you don't have IT set as the display device on your RIS ROP. I think Varomix covers that in his Renderman tut on YouTube. Or are you not getting RM installed at all?

I think I managed to install it. It shows up as ris:22 on the node. All the usual nodes associated with RM are available as well. It's just when I try to render anything it errors out. I've tried clicking “Render” on the /out/Renderman node as well as in the render view.

Your test.hip renders fine for me and your env variables mapping looks correct. Have you restarted your machine since the install? I'd drop a note on the Renderman for Houdini forum and see if another Windows user has this issue (I'm on a Mac).
Best of luck
