Hi,
Does anyone have any opinions if PCIe 4 will help with Houdini? i.e. m2 read/write, viewport speed, OCL computations.
Thanks!

You'll get slightly better transfer speeds, but at least in the viewport context, if the GPU is constantly having to transfer data back and forth in such quantities that this would matter, you're likely already seeing sluggishness. So maybe it'll be slightly less sluggish, but still sluggish
Reading large quantities of data from disk already got a massive boost from the SSD vs. HD switch. If you're still using an HD, this won't matter. If you're using an SSD then you'll get better sequential reading speed, but that case is somewhat rare (streaming 8k VR video or multiple 4K streams maybe?).
OpenCL might see a bit of an improvement with large datasets given how often we push & pop data from the GPU there, but again it's probably not going to be noticeable unless you're timing it.
