Nice! The hair is a bit… “uncat” like. And its pupils should be more vertically elongated at that aperture opening, reaching almost round shape only at the maximum opening.
Looking forward to seeing it finished!

Thanks McNistor, great points! There is actually a technical issue I have with renderman handling stray hairs that's causing a disconnect in the look of hair. Haven't figured out a proper way to deal with shading of stray hairs in it.
As for the eyes, the cat is meant to have those innocent looks with round pupils although I can probably add more oval shape to it :]

can't gelp you with renderman, but regarding the eyes, if you're after the, by now notorious, look of Puss in boots from Shrek, you have to make the pupils bigger should you want to keep the almost round shape. Google can help you visualize what I'm saying.

Of course. The pupil shape i'm more after is something like this

I sorta figured out the renderman issue. Needs some tweaking.

“Pleasant Times” is inspired by unexpected events that happen in life!

It was a speed work which took about two weeks trying different ideas along the way. There seems to be a special edition of Lion King coming too! So many areas to improve but I'd like to call it done!

Also, major props to SideFX for making such a robust software from different aspects! I've used many hair systems but I can Houdini's is such a breath of fresh air and a joy to work with.

LoL, confirmation that I am very slow at doing things in Houdini.

Niiice! Love the retro look given by the photo filter like lighting.
There are some problems with the kitten's anatomy, which to me are a bit distracting, but very good overall.

Well, I doubt that! There isn't anything complicated going on in the scene, the only part that took most time was grooming.

Yes, there are multiple anatomy flaws. The beauties of trying to wrap things up quickly, lol. I'm glad you like it.

Looks fantastic so far. You've nailed the eyes! The only thing i would recommend would be to adjust the fur. It looks a little bit matted down, like the kitty needs a bath, or was out in the rain.
