Very simple use of Connect Adjacent Pieces does not work

I'm a bit confused. I've used this tool before and it just worked without any problems. I've started on a new file, which is much simpler, but the connect adjacent pieces node does absolutely nothing.
I'm sure I'm doing something stupid, but I just can't see it.

Hello again,

A bit hard to say what's wrong as I'm not sure what is the exact effect you're aiming for. At least the search radius was a bit low, plus the ForEach is a bit redundant, as each execution loop is identical.

Hi eetu
It didn't matter what the search radius was, it never connected anything. There's a reason for the for loop too

Yours looks exactly the same as mine

I think I'm having graphics display issues. Some stuff just doesn't show up in the viewport.

I've had that lately as well. Try creating another obj and selecting that, I've seen the selected object disappear lately. Or try opengl 2.1 or rendering.

Changing to OpenGL 2.1 worked. Seems 3.1 is borked
Thanks eetu!

I spoke too soon. Houdini is just super unstable and crashing constantly, so I can't really do anything

It would be good to submit a bug under the Support menu above.

Thanks!

Just out of interest, what is your driver/card combo? (I presume Nvidia)

I am not sure how to see your driver version in all that text, but I had viewport problems too.

It was because I used the latest 344.11 Drivers from Nvidia which they released with the new 980 cards, so I downgraded to the previous 340.52 drivers and now everything works again.

Yes, this did start happening when I updated my graphics card on both my work and home machines. I've submitted a bug anyway and the devs have the information, but in the meantime I'm trying to see if there's a way to downgrade my drivers.
Oh, and I'll be trying to achieve an interesting animation effect eetu - and I'm sure to get stuck and post for help, so I'll warn you in advance

Hi,

I just stumbled upon this thread because I encountered the same problem and I know this thread is a few years old.

The problem in my case was that the points were missing a pscale attribute and voila they connected just fine.

Cheers

I don't know if my issue was the same that the OP was encountering, but in case this thread is found by another having the same problem I had…

I was using a Voronoi Fracture node then an Assemble node to create the packed geometry. When I added the Connect Adjacent Pieces node, I was not seeing any connections. I looked back at my Assemble node and saw that my Pivot Location was set to Origin. When I changed it to Centroid, all of the connections then appeared between my pieces.
