Hello! Im trying to achieve a high velocity atmospheric effect. (see attached picture and link)

Im new to houdini and was wondering what approach would get me that smooth (non puffy) rapidly moving atmospheric trail, volume/smoke/pyro or particles? What would be the best way to fake such high velocity (the animation is obviously slower than meteor speeds)?

I have tried pyro, but the result always seems to be bursts of way too puffy smoke. Any of the gazillion houdini dop or pop nodes that could help me achieve a smooth high velocity trail?

Any suggestions welcome. Thanks!

Have you tried procedurally modelling it? I wouldn't approach that look with a sim.
