Dear Forumers,

I have been looking at various tutorials and am trying to create a car that crashes, whilst the engine explodes and then crashes into some sand.

This is obviously very complicated but i believe I am beginning to get my head around the workflow.

Currently I would love some advice on how to get my car bodywork to deform in a kind of crumpling way. This also has to look relatively realistic whilst closeup (not crazy closeup but the camera isn't always going to be REALLY far).

Is vellum a good way to go (can the cloth be ramped up to be tough like metal)? Any other tips or links to good tutorials?

Thanks in advance.

Attached is pic of car bodywork geo.

You will have a very hard time doing this in Vellum my experience.

I would do an RBD sim with glue-to-soft constraints. Then use a point deform to deform using the RBD sim to bend the original geometry.
