Hello-

I'm trying to bring in a chan file from maya but I'm pretty new to this houdini stuff.. I've worked out that you have to bring it in via CHOPS but how do I apply it to the camera?

thanks

if you middle click on the file node you'll see a list of channels…you can rename (rename chop) them if needed and then export (export chop) them to your Houdini camera.

see the help for more detailed info.

I have a free tool that does this:

docs on importing w/ CHOPS:

if anyone is looking to import cameras, importing by fbx works well, if you want to scale the cameras go to the fbx node>camera node>view tab>Icon Scale

Also, you can use alembic for importing cameras.
