houdini 18 - karma renderer DSO errors

hi,

i installed v18.0.287 today and i get error when selecting karma.
it says that it cant load all the “BRAY_xxx.dll”´s in ../dso/kamera/ “missing symbol in ”newBRAYSampleFilter" …

is there something missing?

This is a known issue that I believe can be ignored. Have you got the “HOUDINI_DSO_ERROR” environment variable set?

ok. no the variable isnt set…
setting it to 0? or 1?

oh its set to 2…because of a synology-nas server that i use…

disabling the variable helps not getting that dso error…thanx for the hint.

How did you switch over to karma render in scene view? I don't even see a render node for karma under ‘out’ except for the usdrender which is not showing up in render view when I do drop it.

Any help to get started with karma would greatly be appreciated.

Switch to the solaris desktop or go to /stage. The scene viewer for a lopnetwork will let you pick the renderer.
