Inverting UV layout... sort of.

Hello!

I wonder if anyone has a clever solution for how to layout UVs in the negative space from a previous layout that you want to leave untouched.

The uvLayout node has a “Pack Into Islands From Second Input” setting which allows me to layout shells in the same space as the previous layout again, and that's exactly the opposite of what I'd like to do! I'd like to pack UV's into the still empty space.

I bet there's a real simple answer to this, but for the life of me I cannot find a button that does this. If there be no simple button to make this happen, how could I go about “inverting” my UVs from the first layout? Maybe using a boolean operation would do it?

Cheers!

/Erik

you can use Avoid Packing Over Non-Group Islands
and make sure that already layed out geo is not in the group specified by Group parameter

Thanks, Tomas! I’ll give that a try. Seems a lot easier than the direction I was heading I knew I must have missed something! Great things ahead!
