Hi guys,

I want to create a Git repository for a set of OTLs, and I want the project to live outside of my otls preferences folder.

I tried to edit my Houdini.env with something like this :

HOUDINI_OTLSCAN_PATH = @/otls;/Users/julien/Work/Houdini/myGitProject/otls

But it doesn't work. What am I doing wrong ?

Additionally, when I see plugins like sideFX Labs or the Quixel otls, they live somewhere else, the otls are stored in a different folder, yet they are accessible without tweaking the Houdini.env file. How do I get my project setup in a similar way ?

Thanks a lot,

Julien

The preferred method is to use package files now.

https://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/ref/plugins.html [www.sidefx.com]

You still have to modify your houdini setup to find the package file though, such as adding it to your home houdini folder, or adding another folder to you houdini path and putting the packages there.
