Capture weights post-paint normalization?

Hi,

I need your help in capture weight painting. The default setting of capture layer paint node is set to what Maya calls an interactive normalization. That means whenever I remove/add/smooth weights of a bone, the missing values get replaced with other ones. That might be okay with simple rigs, however it gets really annoying in areas like human face. In Maya there is an option to turn on post-painting normalization, which means the weights can go either over or below the value of 1, and get normalized later. This prevents random values popping all over the place, and makes the workflow faster. Is there a way to enable this kind of normalization in Houdini? If not, do you know a workaround?

I'll do it after I get sure I don't miss something obvious. Somehow I have the feeling, that the concept of ‘layer’ and ‘final composite’ was supposed to make painting work this way.
