Hello!
This is my first post so I hope I have sent it to the correct forum page. I am new to Houdini and I was wondering how to transfer the normals from one mesh to another using an Attribute Transfer node. I was watching this (https://youtu.be/Vx_kYEUvYCA?list=PLD0NE-Hgi-8tIktGiIXjjfvElZx8YRHNy&t=576) youtube video where this artist is transferring the normal attribute from one mesh to another. This allows him to apply mountain noise without getting as many artifacts.

I have attached two images to showcase the differences in normals. The first is the normals post-attribute transfer, and the second is pre-attribute transfer.

I also attached my Houdini file.

I am hoping someone can lend a hand and help me out!
Thanks a lot in advance.

Hey john-wright,

the attribute noise needs point normals. so make the normals on points and smooth those. btw you can simplify this setup.

Cheers
