Do particles and other SOPs benefit in Houdini from openCL / GPU or multi-core CPUs?

What about some of the newer technologies like KineFX?

Considering buying RTX 3090 and upgrading CPU cores and wondering if I will really see much improvement besides karma XPU and some openCL pyro solvers.

Thank you

Acording to the rumors 4090 is not to far away btw.

Pyro gets a huge boost from more cpu cores.

Some KineFX node has "Enable Multithreading" parameter. But I think unless the rig is extremely complex, this option doesn't really speed it up.

Yes, many SOPs are multithreaded as well as VEX also if you are using multithreaded compiled foreach blocks, and some nodes like Attribute Blur and some Heightfield SOPs use OpenCL SOP so they will benefit from GPU

Simulation wise the same applies, heavily multithreaded
And on top of Pyro, Vellum also uses OpenCL for constraint solve, FLIP can use OpenCL I think for Viscosity solve, etc..
