Hi!

I had a group attribute named “chunks” on some primitives. After the PolyExtrude (with preserve groups option) I see that the groups are only preserved on the front faces but not the sides. anyway to fix this? Is there an option I'm missing?

Did you try Point Normal in Extrusion Mode?

I've run into this problem a few times and it always brings me back to this forum post. Setting Extrusion Mode to Point Normal doesn't resolve the issue for me, but Olivierth has another post here: https://www.sidefx.com/forum/topic/61089/ [www.sidefx.com] that seems to have a good solution.

Short answer: Use attributes instead of groups as they will be preserved after the extrusion.

So, this should be marked as a bug, isn't it?
