On my file cache node I have a file cached and stored on disk. From my understanding the nodes above the file cache shouldn't have to cook again if "Load from Disk" is checked. I feel like this has changed recently, can anyone explain this to me?

The only way I have been able to load from disk properly without cooking anything is disconnecting the filecache from the rest of the node tree.

They can still cook if you have a template flag set on the nodes above the FileCache.
Another way they can still cook is if you have an ObjectMerge fetching from somewhere above your FileCache in another Geometry node, and that node's Display flag is set.

Not sure if this is related, but I've found that if I hit "save to disk" when "Load from disk" is set, it seems to process the nodes above not once, but TWICE... very annoying, and also just a recent thing.
Houdini TD, I focus on tools for procedural asset creation.
