Because we haven't written it.

The ability to author a movie file directly out of COPs and Mplay is an existing RFE.

For now search the forums as to how to create movie files from a sequence of images on both Windows and Linux.
There's at least one school like the old school!

I just output the images as either tif, tga or 100% jpg files and then use Quicktime Pro to build the quicktime movie.

Yeah, that's why Quicktime Pro exists. If you really need to make Quicktimes, then buy that product. It will keep you on top of the constant changes they keep making to their codecs, to boot.

For those with more ‘serious’ quicktime demands (hi-res, very long sequences) I would recommend sequencepublisher from Iridas.

it's smokin' fast, and has all sorts of goodies like custom burn-ins, scriptability, etc.

great product.
