Hello,

I've made a digital asset object and wanted to parent it to another object A.

I want to parent it by dragging the name (path) of object A to an input field on the digital asset…

Is this possible and how ?

thanks,

Doesn't simply dragging the node to the field in question work?

Hello,

I want to make a digital asset like the “psurfdisk” (from the Old School Blog ‘Digital Asset design 1’ video)

In this video they show how you simply drag the target object ‘engine1’ to a field in the psurfdisk DA.

Then the psurfdisk1 is automatically parented to engine 1.(if engine1 moves the psurfdisk moves too)

I want to know how to make that inputfield on the DA, so that it ‘makes’ the parenting….

Hopefully now it's a little clearer to understand.

thanks,

Inside the DA, create a Fetch object as the parent. Now promote up the Fetch Object parameter.

if you want to have a closer look at some of those assets, then download the Fx shelf, create a new contrail and check out the available assets. The pssurf assets are inside of it. I am not sure if they are exactly the same because I am just exploring them myself as well.
