I have install houdini apprentice and is running very slow . and there is no UI icons

my PC setup is

HP pavilion TX2120us

AMD turion 64 X2 mobile Tchnology Tl64 2.20ghz
4,00Gb ram
windows Vista 64
Nvidia GeoForce Go 6150

any ideia about the problem ?

Download the latest version of houdini and delete the houdini9.5 directory in your $HOME, then reinstall houdini.

my Houdini version is

houdini 9.5.241

should I download 9.5.276 ?
but can I still using as apprentice version ?

Sure you can! When you have an apprentice license you can very easily get a new one anyway . If you reinstall houdini just don't install the license server, that way all your licenses are still okay.

same problem with new version . no Icons . and very slow ..
when I try rotate the view plane . it takes about 10 seconds to start working
same for menus .. or switch from scene view to channel editor . take even more time and no icons anywhere ..


I thought that could be my computer but my other 3D application is working fine .

I don`t know what is wrong here .

houdini is running fine ! the problem was my OS . . after some hours doing a backup disc and some recovery windows on my notebook . houdini starts working very well tnx for help me . and tnx sidefx for the apprentice version ..
