Hello,


In the Fur help files the say to use the fur tip/ fur root color…
I don't find them in the Fur shelf….

using H10.0.268, win xp 32

I think they removed the ability to paint root and tip colours seperately. Shame IMO.

The Paint Root Color and Paint Tip Color tools on the Fur shelf have been replaced with Paint Base Color tool that can be used with the new Textured Hair material.

yes, but it will be difficult to get local varying root and tip colors…

you are free to alter the material to serve your purpose, there is root/tip mixing of texture maps, you can do the same thing with colors and then create attribs of the same name as your parameters to paint colors localy
