is it posible to import “Curves” or Nurbs from other packages to houdini?

i try with FBX but it creates plane polygon, just if a save it as OBJ. format.
i also try it doing the curve in modo and exporting it as LWO, (lightwave object) since houdini is great and have so many formats to work with.
i havent try with Collada yet since i have to add a plugging to modo to export it as collada.

any ideas? Thanks guys and Happy festivities. .

ok, i did set the collada for modo, but still convert the curve into polygons.
since the idea is to have the curves of modo into Houdini for dynamic simulation with wire dynamics.
another idea i got, is to do all the curves in modo with # of point each curve, lets say 5 points, and if we export 5 curves, we end with 25 points in that objetc, grouping every 5 point, starting 0 to 5, 6 to 11 and so on, and make curves from those groups,

but i dont see if we have an option on the curve node to do a curve from a group. i will need to check that on monday, houdini doesnt run in my home pc .

- AFAIK, Modo is a polygonal modeler, it doesn't have any NURBS tools
- To import NURBS into Houdini, you need to use a format that supports NURBS (eg. IGES). The IGES importer is finnicky though (IGES is a monster format). Search on the forum on how best to import IGES into Houdini.
- I don't understand why you need to create a curve from a group. A Convert SOP will work fine provided your curves have the correct number of points.
- I don't understand why you're trying to use NURBS curves

wanted to animate the curves in houdini and export the animation as MDD to modo

I meant, “Why are you using NURBS? Just use polygon curves”.
