I just installed Houdini Apprentice on my laptop (WinXP, 768MB RAM). When I ran it, it succesfully contacted the license server and received a license. However when I go ro run an application such as Master or Halo, it crashes.

The splash screen will appear. Then the window borders will appear for a window but there won't be any content in the window. I can still see the desktop. Then two windows appear. One says Houdini Console and contains:

Fatal error: Segmentation Fault
Saving application data to CDOCUME~1/noodle/LOCALS~1/Temp/noodle.hip

The other one is a dialog with the second line from above. How do I get this program to work?

Video card and driver?

Card: ATI Mobility Radeon 7500
Driver: ATI Technologies Inc., version 6.13.10.6114

This is all on an IBM ThinkPad T30 laptop

I'd see if there are latest drivers. There doesn't seem to have been a solution found for the 7500's. Try these threads:
