Houdini Engine for Maya » import file with otl loose attrs values

Hello, sorry guys I have another question
I built a maya setup that use few otls I created. If I import that .ma file into a new one, I can see that all the values of the otls' attributes go back to the default values. If I just open that file, all is ok.
Is this a bug? Unfortunately in our pipeline I have to import the files all the times.
I tested this with few different otls we created at the office, and I see the same issue all the times.
I'm running plugin 1.8 at the moment (I think…I'll update the info later)
Currently I'm saving presets and apply those again after the setup is imported, but is quite annoying, as the are many otls and different setups per sequence etc. and I need to copy presets between people ect.
cheers

Hi Andrew,
thanks for the info.
For the moment I'm doing something inside the otl. I simply put 2 switchs, one for the geo and another one for the points, so by default the otl create only 1 cube and 1 point, so I can switch on the heavy part of the calculations only when I need. Easy and good enough for now.
cheers

Hi,
is there any way to disable the cooking of the digitalAssets in maya?
I have many otls loaded in my maya file, and every time I open it I see them cook something. And I'm trying to avoid that . The file is a rig that have to opened many times and by many people, so I'm trying to optimize/speed up things.
I've tried few things in maya, without luck. Any ideas?
Otherwise I guess it has to be solved in the Houdini side.
/side note. I'm stuck with an old version of the plugin, not sure if in the latest there is anything about this.
thanks
Alberto

Hi Andrew,
thanks very much for the quick reply.
Here at work we are on maya2015, engine plugin vers 1.0, houdini 13.
If there is a newer version, what is that? so I can ask to be installed.
thanks again

somehow the example above doesn't work for me.
In maya, are you painting vertexes color or normal 3d paint (based on UV)?
I did few tests, even saving the hip from maya, but I never get any colour attribute in houdini.

lwbiI don't understand this too. Does this means you have to call the colorSet or something else in maya in a specific way?
Thanks Andrew!
I forgot to match the attribute name for the Engine.
