Hey guys!,
I am trying to follow this tutorial of a code/characters raining matrix effect. I would like to tweak it and create a line of text (the word "Dystopia" instead of random chracters; meaning that each point would first create the letter "D", then "Y", and so forth and create the rain effect of many words saying "Dystopia". I tried to tweak this line of code (from the attached image) but I am by no means experienced in coding and I am not sure what I am doing. If someone could help me out with the code or point me in the right direction it would be very much appreciated. Thank you for your time!!

Houdini Indie and Apprentice » Rendering instances Redshift

Hey there!
So I am trying to render instances using redshift; I have created somethng that resembles a flower as a test (I still need to finish modeling the flower for it to actually look like it has petals); but the problem is that when I try to render it the texture that I added will create petals in the viewer, and in the render view it will render the petals but also the shape of the original object. I have screenshot the issue and attached the file. If anyone could direct me or help me to solve this issue it would be a lifesaver!!
Thanks!

toonafishThank you!! all sorted.
If you want to render the curve directly, you can activate "render objects as strands" in the Redshift SOP settings and choose a strand type.
Or you could convert the curve to polygons and use "polywire".
Cheers,
R.

Hey there,
I'm trying to render objects that I created using curves (and revolve node) without success. The objects that I created as polygons are fine but not those created with curves. It might be a very basic and silly mistake but I can't find the solution. Hope someone can help me out with this!
Cheers,
Manu

tamteThank you very much!!! I only realised now about the name of the file hahahManariasvery unfortunate filename
particlesex.hiplc (966.8 KB)
the flickering is happening because you are visualizing particles as sprites, which are just 2d cards always oriented towards camera
so if the particles or camera are moving, there is always a chance that one card will get in front of another and therefore you'll see it as flickering
maybe copy real spheres on them to visualize it that way

EnivobHey Enivob,
Try turning off the popwind, or animating the amplitude of the noise down to zero as the particles settle into their goal position.
Removing popwind reduces this effect but it still happens. But I think I can work with that. Thanks!!

Hey there!
I am trying a tutorial using particles to form an object and I am having an issue when visualising the particles as spheres (using the sprite node). I have attached a link to a Youtube video I have uploaded with showing the issue and the houdini file. The problem is that once the particles have formed the object they are still moving and create an unwanted "flickering" effect. If someone could help me to diagnose this issue I would appretiate it very much!! Thanks for your time!!

Hey there sepu! Thank you for replying! So it turns out I had to adjust the pscale because I was adjusting the sprites scale and that wouldn’t make any change to the actual size of the particles.

Hey there!
I am new to houdini and although trying to figugre out things on my own I need help with this. I am trying to render particles using redshift but they are not rendering. Could someone point me in the right direction please? I've ttached the file if someone could help me!
Thanks in advance!
