Hey,
Is there a way to apply displacement maps with UDIMs and not have seams in SOPs?
I need this for a hair groom. Rendering with Redshift.
Cheers,
Nick

Hey,
See attachment.
I used this all the time for Redshift lookdev in OBJ. It doesnt seem to do anything for me in Lops + Karma.
Just me? Is there plan for support?
Cheers,
Nick D

Hey,
Windows 10
Houdini 19.5.303
Gpu: 3090
I get this running an OpenGL rop via Deadline.
OpenGL Fatal Error: The installed OpenGL driver is not able to run OpenGL 3.3. Please update the driver and check the minimum system requirements for Houdini (www.sidefx.com/sysreq)
I'm running NVIDIA driver v516.94.
Note: It works fine if i remote in, open houdini, and hit render. It reports Opengl version 4.6.0
Any ideas?
Cheers

Hey,
I was setting some defaults for the filecache sop before using an onCreated.py, for example:

With out luck. What is the formatting for nodes with ":" in them?
Cheers,

A smarty pants beat me too it.
Just use the clumpid as the cluster attribute in a glue constraint.

Hey,
I'm finding when I do a vellum sim of hair with lots of clumps, all the clumps just separate as soon as I start a sim. Is there a way to make vellum stick hairs together that are in the same clump guide curve? Or just stick to near by hairs?
I'm going for something like this:

Hey,
I'm testing out Houdini 19.0.383 (windows 10), and I'm getting the insufficient privileges error trying to write a usd to disk. I use a Synology NAS as my file system.
Any hot tips?

This is on the outside of the sop solver. It might not be an error, but it stops the sim.

Hey,
Still getting the same error. Even if I go into the Sop Solver and hit "Reset simulation" on the "d" dopnet.
Any ideas?

Hey,
It's inside a HDA.
I'll look into this thread, cheers. I feel this is a houdini bug!

Hey,
I keep getting this randomly on my SOP solver, and it causes the sim to stop
"Sop solver cached in intermediate mode, cached results incorrect".
I tried hitting "Reset simulation", turning off "Cache simulation", restarting Houdini, and deleting my cache, and nothing seems to fix it.
If I create a new sop solver, and copy/paste over the sops I want, it starts working again for a bit, before the error returns.
Totally stumped, any ideas?
Cheers,
Nick Deboar

Follow up: Are there restrictions to selling HDALC? Can FX users open them?
From memory, Orbolt accepts Indie HDAs, but some of the tools I make use nodes from other packages (for example, Redshift), and Orbolt doesnt seem to support that.

Hey,
Q: Is there an way to expand a HDA in Houdini indie? Not being able to do this makes tracking changes in GIT almost impossible.
I noticed the option to do this is not under the asset manager in Indie.
On the commandline, if I run:
hotl -t outDir inHda
I get an error
Cannot convert non-commercial HDAs
But, it does create an expanded HDA still, it just has no nodes inside it, but all the scripts on the HDA are still there.
So, it half works?
Cheers,
Nick D

He,
Alembic archives don't have any geometry class, they are like a subnet, so there is not bounding box data attached to them. Is there a way to get the bounding box of all the alembics nested in an alembic archive?
Ta,
Nick
