That's the error message I'm getting. It tells me to set the Houdini_OGL_ENABLE_SHADERS environment variable to zero.
I opened the command line tools and found the variable which is set to one but I can't figure out how to change it. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Pete

BTW arctor…I tried just re-rendering files 80 - 150 to the saved file and it overwrote the existing 80 - 150 files which is great if you know exactly what you want but bad if you make a mistake. I also did it your way and saved the files I wanted to edit and that seems a little safer because now I can replace the original files.
Thanks again,
Pete

Now why didn't I think of that? Thanks arctor. I thought that they might overwrite the original frames but that didn't seem to work. You've saved me a lot of time, being new to this I do a lot of editing.
Thanks again,
Pete

Well I finally got my first anim to an .avi file..thanks to edward..and thought I would throw another question out there for you pros. Ready??
How can I edit my animation and not have to render all 300 frames again, in other words if I edit frames 80 thru 100 can I just re-render those frames and then rebuild the animation? I hope that makes sense, I'm not sure I understand it myself.

Thank you very much. I'm going to cut and paste this somewhere where I'll have it.

Me again edward. I have a small problem..it tells me it can't read in file #1 of 1. Could it be because when I render the file it saves it as a .picnc file ( non-commercial)?

Yeah, I figured it out after a little trial and error. I'm going to try it right now and will let you know how I made out.

I created a small animation and want to render to a file in order to view it in either Real or Divx but can't seem to find the info. I have been saving it as filename.$F.pic or .avi and it saves 300 files..one for each frame..but is there a way to merge them and play them back in one file as a video.
Thanks in advance,
Pete

Hi folks,
I'm new here and to Houdini and was wondering if there were any good books written on Houdini. The videos are great but I'm from the old school, in other words I'm old, and like to have something to use as a reference when I need it and trying to watch the video and follow the examples in Houdini is tough on my system.
Thanks in advance,
Pete
