Indeed that trick is working thanks for helping !
But I think my question should have been more precise, in fact when I see my networks, I think I really should try to find a way to get my object size in VOPS, a sort of input :?
but thanks, that's helping anyway !

Hi everybody,
Here comes an other question…
I have got 2 boxes, the first one has got 7 in Y size and the second one 3 . I'm applying a brick pattern on these objects . How can my shader “read” those Y sizes so it can, according to that value, create a brick pattern 10 times smaller than that Y size. So, depending on which objects it's applied on, the pattern will have different sizes …
I'm not sure if I have to do that in VEXbuilder or elsewhere …
Thanks again in advance
Julien

Technical Discussion » Using a POP attribute inside a Copy Sop

Hi Everybody,
I created a POPnetwork , it's plugged in the input 2 of a CopySop (Template to copy to) .
For the Input 1 of the Copy SOP I just plugged a Sphere.
Inside my POPnetwork I used a Proximity Operator to add a Nearest Distance Attribute.
Now back in my CopySOP, I use stamp inputs .
So basically I would like to use my “nearest distance attribute” to drive the size of the spheres (so they don't intersect), using a “param” in the size parameter of the SphereSOP. I'm not sure if I have to use “poppoint”, and also how can I itterate within the points of the popnet for each sphere copy.
I hope I'm clear enough :?
Thanks in Advance

yep, that's right, but it's doesn't need to be very precise, I tried to play with the polywire SOP , I think I need some kind of projection to outline the overall shape ..
I know that's not a common problem :?

Hi again,
Following my L-System question, here is a tougher one
Does anyone have got a wise idea to “fill” that L-system ?
See the little squares ? I want them to be filled, like for example a capping polygon or something like that. I already tried to play with extrude, then clip / cookie, etc .. but it's very clean at all .
Basically I want to carve out that L-system shape …
Thanks again in advance

Hi,
I found that L-system expression on the web
$v = 90; $str=“FX”; $it = 5; $sc = 15;
%rules = (“X”, “FX+FX+FXFY-FY-”,
“Y”, “+FX+FXFY-FY-FY”, “F”, “”);
and I wonder how I can “translate” for the L-system SOP, I mean which
part is the premise, rule, etc …
Basically I'm trying to use that expression with the L-system SOP
Thanks in advance

Technical Discussion » VEX geometry operator UV / Partition question

Hi,
I want to achieve this :
-Apply an image map on a grid and delete points of the grid whose color are less than 230 230 230
So basically what I do is :
-Create a grid
-Create a VEX geometry operator : global(P) -> vector to float -> (u v)colormap ->(Cd)Output
- Apply the vex geo operator in SOP
- Partition using color rule
- Blast
Now my problems/questions are :
- In Vex geometry operator , there are no “Uv space change” so my color map doesn't apply correctly, the UV seems wrong. Any ideas for that ?
- My partition operator has created a group for each different color, is there a way to group together point that have Cd > 230 230 230 ?
Thanks in advance !

Can you maximize all the other apps, at the exception of Houdini ?
I'm not sure this works with KDE, but what if you use alt+right mouse button to resize the window ?

Hello Everybody,
I wonder how to randomize a value between a fork of 2 values.
For example I want a radom value like that :
/obj/model/box1/sizey < my random value < /obj/model/box2/sizey
I want the value to always be in that fork without clamping to the max/min
Thanks in advance !
