*running Houdini 19.0.383+python 3.7*
I kept having similar problems trying to run a PDG calling an embeded HDA. I fixed it by making a new version of my HDA.
Digital Asset>Save as > put in new ver.
HDA is unlocked for me.

I've been using it until now it was fine, now the rc_align images no longer functions. ( license and everything else is fine, no errors) Pressing the align images seems to run something then completely stops showing no result in the viewport. I also tried different versions of Houdini/gamedev build and recreating the project from scratch in a different location. No luck so far.
Is it again the caching issue ? ( using rc align in a new project will give me a random point cloud unrelated to the images i input)

Hey. You if any1 was following this I managed to fix it. I export the heightmap from UE4 into my hda setup(I export a png and load it back in Houdini, its not slick but it works). I do a boolean with and object and the resulting piece i turn into a mesh that gets points scattered across it.

Im trying to build a HDA to scatter assets onto my landscape in UE4 but every time I try i get one of 2 results. If i leave the surface input as a heightfield nothing happens and nothing cooks, or if i turn the surface to a mesh (with the export selected components only) i get the message that houdini started cooking then HAPI just crashes. It also dissapears from task manager.
I attached my files, maybe my approach to the hda is flawed.

Ok. In the meantime I'll try to see if i get the error on another computer. In the meantime is there a way to bypass this issue ?

Has the plugin expired by any chance or is something else going on. I used the RC nodes to align photos of a object. That rc file is now cached but it shows up every time i create a new rc_align node, even when the images are completely different. Once i press the align images again it performs a calculation and turns no result in the view port.
I am a bit stumped by this. Not sure if its something to do with RC licensing or something I am doing wrong.

Hi. I redid the project for a clean start. Still the same result. Now the path seems fine…

Hi. I am having the same problem here. Edited the path in unity and the result is the same. No asset loaded. This is my setup.

Hi. I am aware now that the video doesn't show the problem due to a recording issue. Anyway, after talking to support they pointed to my user file in C drive having a space and ‘. Changing those fixed the issue i was having with exporting HDA’s. (houdini does not like spaces or ' in its paths)

As for the method : I create a geo node. I go inside and delete the import file node and place a box. That's it.

Having the exact same issue. Currently following Pluralsight tutorials and I am stuck .
Looked up documentation on vops but I'm not using any, and a basic box does not automatically create any. Still the error is with a vop network. I can share any debug data if needed.
Haven't found any relevant info around google. Is any1 working on a fix ?
I am currently running Houdini Indie so i should be able to export hda's as far as I know unless the rules changed. ( with apprentice i don't think u can )
