I have a cloth sim, that has @10 pieces of cloth and each is assigned a point group.
I can see them throughout the sim, and I have everything checked for the alembic export.
When I brink it into C4d for lighting and rendering, I see pretty much everything but the point groups (clothID1, clothID2, etc...)
Any ideas about what I'm doing wrong?

I have a houdini file that I made a digital asset from.
I made a mistake in the file before I saved it as an asset. I have fixed that (adding a node at the end to convert it to polygons), but cant seem to re-save it… How can I re-save the HDA?
I unlocked it and updated it, but that didnt seem to update the HDA.

Hi guys,
I'm doing Rohan's Rocketship tutorial, and so far been able to figure out some of the depreciated nodes. I'm having some trouble with a group node.
He is using a group node that is set to group by expression. The expression is
I know I should be using the new group expression node, but am unsure of the vexpression I should be using.

I'm using a vellum constraints cloth into a vellum solver, and there is no freeze at frame…

Coming to H from C4d and XP.
Is there a way to set the initial state of a vellum cloth sim? So instead of waiting 20 frames for it to drape over a model, it just “starts draped”?
Or am I better off just simming the whole thing….

Thanks. Checking it out now. The GJ tenor sounds like a cool thing. I love gypsy and tenor….. If only I won the lottery, then I could do all my geeky hobbies all day long…..

It was something in my Houdini.env file.
I'm using a 1080, so thats all good.
Just wrapping my hear around making the thread….. then the cloth… then putting it together…..

I'm working on getting the strings to work (my first forays into Vellum).
Unfortunately, I'm having a huge Houdini crash issue which isn't letting me open H with my Nvidia card.

A few months ago someone had posted some vellum cloth sims with a black cloth and thread constraints that pulled them together in a sewing like manner…. anyone remember these?

Going through a tutorial for Optical Flow:
At 19:17, an Emit Particle Fluid is added to the sim.
When I add it in R17, I dont see the fluid source (create_surface_volume) or the merge_surface_volume
Screenshot attached, my H is on the Left, tutorial on the right.
How woould I go about doing this in R17? Ive been pretty stumped….

I ended up deleting the ground grid and making a new one and making that a collider, in case anyone stumbles across this in the future.

I'm doing the particle fluid tutorial from Maxdepth.
I had it working well, but moved the floor collider object, and now the fluid just passes through the floor, is there something I have to reset? I'm not sure why its not working anymore.
I tried saving and re-opening the file, as well as restarting H.
I also tried clicking the refresh button in the flip solver.

I have an emitter that is emitting a liquid, but it is really jaggy, when it collides, it is nice and smooth. What can I do to smooth it out in the pre collision part?

I'm working on this fluid sim. Hey - its my second houdini project - and my first with no tutorial 
Its a fluid that gets poured across a surface to illustrate a molding process.
So I have an emitter emitting fluid and a collider surface.
I originally had the emitter animating, but I think it would be better if the collider moved.
When I was animating the emitter, it worked.
When I removed the animation from the emitter and animated the collider, it stopped working.
I know its something easy (OK, I hope its something easy….), but I can't figure it out.
