Use the free watermarked version, which you can't really use for your reel.

Test with the water marked version and render on grid markets. You need to direct your question to Autodesk as Sidefx has nothing to do with Arnold

@ptnum is assigned to points , if you delete any points @ptnum will change. What I do is a assign a unique id to each point. if using particles thats often @id . I have no idea about the tutorial but post up a scene file showing the issue

I am advising you look at the tech of how hair works , which is basically anchor points with guide curves that can have dops applied. Your anchor points could be derived from a cloth sim

I would look at ripping into the fur tools and how about applying the hairs to a cloth sim.

H16 has a complete re-write of the surface tension dop. Out the box the h15 surface tension dop is no good for doing small scale sims, unless that is you make your own micro solver, as a few have done.

Wouldn't it be easier to make your lines out of a pop trail > then turn those into dop wire sim ?. Or just can using a wire solve and drive your point collisions against a vdb, in a sop solver or a wrangle sop. It would help if you could give the big picture on what your trying to do.

Hi,
You can do everything in the SOP level. This scene might be a bit complex as your new to Houdini but it does LOD to camera with the geometry. Its a few year old so it does not use some of the latest tools in houdini.

If this is a micro shot , like a drop down a surface your best using meta balls. If its hero crown splash with a droplet your best waiting for H16 !

Houdini uses open exr 2.0 http://www.openexr.com/ [openexr.com] Check if Resolve supports it.

Floats are automatically declared so @noiseid will be a float automatically.

What if I don't want to use the wrangler and do what you did in the wrangler in VOPS ?

You could do it all in vops depending on what the rule is, ie @ptnum > 5 .Which would say all point numbers greater than 5 get noise.

Hi,I would not be using a foreach loop to do a job like that. If you convert @id = @primnum you can get access to each prim bit of geometry in a simple vop or wrangle. Post up a scene file of where you at and precisely what your trying to do

I have to say if your using the CAD to do arch viz , Its far better being handled by 3ds max but it depends what your end goal is.
