Hi, is this still an issue?
Jose, where in the quadremesher node can you insert the metadata iteration number in Houdini?

I believe they already gave a hint about KineFX in the previous release 18 talk.
When discussing the automatically (FX) placement of objects in LOPS they said
We will implement similar technologies in other areas of Houdini as well. Character related areas.

In the FLIP solver node in the “particle motion” tab (in the behaviour panel) , you need to turn on ‘particle ID’. The retime node uses that in order to manage the retiming of FLIP particles. Then it should work without flickering.

I did see some of these other nodes as well,
But did not want to point them out here to not discourage SideFX to
publish more “sneak peak” video's in the future : )

Not sure why but I keep seeing questions like these all over the internet.

The technology behing HDA's is amazing.
The dev team behind Houdini is Amazing.
How come the orbolt asset store is not? (compared to many other asset stores in other apps)
I think this is one area where the greatest gains can be had.

Most useful HDA's that I find are from the internet in general (several forums, personal websites, vimeo descriptions, etc)

Can we help (or dare I say, inspire) SideFX with some examples on what constitutes a great 3D asset store?
or can we provide a list of improvement ideas in general?
This feels to me like such a missed opportunity for Houdini and it's entire community.
What is needed to ‘pimp’ the Orbolt store to it's maximum potential?

This is what my character picker shows in my Houdini (16.5.323) - please take a loot at that font.

Anybody any idea how to change that font?
Impossible for our animators to read it correctly.

Besides topobuilding on a plane, it also has new shortcut(s) if i'm correct (like closing a hole etc).
I like the idea of using topobuild node as a starting point for development, just last week I used it to retopo something. I liked the experience. The more handy shortcuts they can add to it the better (shortcut uses reminds be a bit of uvlayout software as well which is also a great experience)

I did see in the TAB menu + in the shelve a new ‘vellum’ category + new FEM category : ) Can't wait when it's out.

In the particlefluidsurface1 you might want to change flattening “ extrude polygons” type to planar.
hat helped me once with a similar problem.

You said:

It doesnt support packed alembic procedural, neither packed bgeo procedural. This means you will have to save your geometry to ass file every single frame. Saving 10gb worth of geo every single frame (animated geo) might be bottle neck for you (definitely its for us).

But the Houdini indie licence does not support exporting files as .ass files.

Great example, i did the first version before in a production by moving the normals, but the second one bends everything nicely. What would the preferred method be to replace the curves with actual geometry (liek a low-res wheat plant)? without absolutely killing the machine.

Where in the new point node can you add the name,
This is what this test gves me (trying to align the tube to the surface of the copied polygon)
- First mage a group of the polygon called “ testPolygon”
- In the new point node i tried applying it only to that group.
- Typed in “value” in the VEXexpression and gave it 0,1,0 in the constant value text boxes.
