Very cool…exactly what i was waiting for! One more question After one year (365 days), do I have to pay another 199$ to continue using Houdini Indie, or will i just not be able to use the latest Version?

It's an annual rental program, so it will no longer work after 365 days.

So close! No perpetual license, I can't support software rental for the hobbyist, Indie level. If SESI changes their policy like NextLimit, I and others are on board, until then I'll continue to learn and use HD11 for personal projects.

Well, I thought going back to H11 would solve the issue. Maybe it never worked before but I thought I was able to get my old mac mini with it's GMA950 video to run Houdini. Get a crash now on a new (old) mac mini I got off ebay. I'm running 10.6.8 with a 2ghz Core2 and 4GB ram. Any thoughts other than don't run Hodini on such specs? I only want it on to do some modeling. light duty…but alas it may not to be possible.

This has occured with every asset I try to download. Tried to download the trial version of this Greeble generator. I have ApprenticeFX 12.133 installed on a windows XP machine. I get the same on a Window 7 64 bit laptop as well.


Any ideas..looks to be an issue with Python.

It doesn't work for me in that version either. The Mplay disappears with no message or saved render. The crashlog however shows…

I guess it's not that big of a deal since I can bring the stereoscopic images saved from the mantra node into the compositor and connect the left and right with the anaglyph node, then save out…little bit of a hassle but would probably be the better way of doing it in the long wrong, especiialy if I wanted to do some compositing on the images of a video.

Just curious about whether the save preview worked for anybody else.

Does the save preview option on the Mplay even work? It crashes on me using 11.1.215 W32 and the W64 production build. H12 production build doesn't crash when saving preview but the Mplay just closes with no file being saved.

I have been able to get saved files via the Output Picture in the mantra node but I would like to just have one image output via the mPlay for stereoscopic renders.

error message is:
