hey all
trying to work out how to replicate this- using vellum as the OP did.
https://vimeo.com/450240130 [vimeo.com]
how do i go about scattering etc, its for a tentacle.
I've got vellum configure fluid working alright but getting my test ball (not scattered bits) to be gooey and stick like the reference is not really working
TIA

hey guys
I've been getting this fun error when trying to render ANYTHING. including just a basic cube
Help menu was no help, anyone know how to fix this/what it would be?
Error: Command exit code:-1073741819

I've been following a softbody tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EqLi2r1Ccw&ab_channel=ResilientPictureCompany [www.youtube.com]
would there be a way that smooths out the obvious fractures, ie be able to achieve similar without a fur sim over the top?
bumpy fractured box atm

hey guys
I need to simulate someone stabbing themselves (yep i know)
the muscle tear under i plan doing as vellum softbody but was thinking cloth for the skin?
or should i just do two separate softbody sims
thanks in advance

Hey guys weird one today.
I need to be able to simulate some smoke but have it freeze in place as the scene it needs to go into will be like time has stopped.
Any tips?

Hey all,
Trying to recreate something like this using vellum softbody or vellum balloon. Needs to be held in place as end product will be either in a hand or on a table.

Any ideas/tips on how to achieve this?

benebthanks man!
Thanks! I can't share the actual car crash hip since its incredibly disorganized and would never run without the actual car geo, which I can't distribute, but I will attach a quick file using the point deform with RBD soft constraints. I hope this helps!
I got it this far. Still not sure what isn't working

Hi valkias,
I was the intern that created the car crash for the sneak peek, that's awesome that you want to recreate it! To answer your question, bullet doesn't explicitly have an option to create a ‘soft body’. To get that look, you could fracture your object and make soft constraints between those fractured pieces. Then, simulate on the fractured object and point deform your original mesh to the simulation. I used this method to create the car crash.
Awesome work!
Still a little lost on the soft constraints- what do i plug in to where? What order?

Hey all! Absolutely loved the Sneak Peek for h17 a few weeks ago. Downloaded it tonight, and I'm still lost.
Where under bullet can I make it soft body? Very lost as to what I should be using- the launch made it sound so much easier than 16.5

Hi all!
I'm trying to recreate some fx but I cannot for the life of me find position based dynamics? see link for example.
I'm trying to create something similar, with a pile of snow or sand.

Hi guys!
two things:
I'm looking to put a ship simulation on a tiled ocean. It needs to produce a wake as per usual.
My client wants a continuous ocean.
Can you render out just the displaced portion to apply as a displacement map to ocean geometry?

rgoldadeI am.
Are you using the same rigid body option for the boat as the torus? Also, how thick is your boat? If the shell of the boat is too thin, then the flip solver might not realise the boat as a collision (depending on the particle separation of course).
I think I'll try thickening the shell of the boat. That may be the problem (the particle separation is 0.1 I think, from memory

The torus is fine, its just the stand in/example of what I want to achieve. I was following a boat tutorial and they mentioned doing this, but my boat geo sinks

I've raised it even as much as 1000, still not working. It goes through the water, does affect it though. It just doesn't float
