I was wondering if it would be possible to increase the maximum limit of 8x anti-aliasing (AA) samples for Vulkan in upcoming releases. Currently, the limit is 8x, and on certain dense meshes, the wireframe rendering appears quite poor. 8x and in some dense meshes the wireframe looks horrendous.

The mirroring workflow has become a bit easier in the meantime. With recent builds you shouldn't have to assign sides on the groom anymore, you can now use "Auto-Assign Side". Just set the side on the template. For templates that don't need mirroring, you can set them to center.
Hello, where I can find a guide to that mirroring workflow?
I can't find anything about mirroring feathers in the documentation.
I have a baked wing groom and I need a proper way to do a mirror without uncondesing the feathers.
If I simple mirror the guides the feathers look messed up. I suppose I need to mirror all the barb attributes too, but I don't know how.
Could you give me an example or point me to some info about that?

In old COPs there is antialiasing for rasterized geometry...

Apart from how annoying it is that this message appears in every Houdini session, I have confirmed that when I launch a render through Deadline, it is unable to start Houdini and keeps throwing errors. To be sure, I tested changing the version of Houdini that Deadline uses to render to 20.5.278, which doesn't show the message at startup, and with this version, Deadline has no problem rendering. So, this is more problematic than it initially seemed.

Hello.
I'm getting this window message on every houdini launch.

This only happens with Houdini 20.5.332 and the latest 20.5.370.
I also have Houdini 20.5.278 installed, and it is not giving me the message.
I also tried to delete the houdini configuration folder but it keeps giving me that message.
I have another computer with Houdini 20.5.332, and there’s no message on Houdini startup. So I guess it’s something related to the installation on my main computer, but I have no idea what it could be...
Any possible solution to this?

Even if I delete the houdini config folder the same message keeps poping up along with the previous neatvideo plugin error...

I did that and then envery time I launch redshift I get an error about the ACES to sRGB processor failing...

How could I change the default view transform for the viewport and Mplay only?
Every time I launch Houdini, the view transform is set to un-tonne-mapped, even if I change it to ACES 1.0 SDR-video in the OCIO Editor during a previous Houdini session.
I know I can edit the .ocio file in the Houdini config folder, but when I do that, I encounter some errors with Redshift during rendering.
I'm using Houdini 20.5.322 and Redshift 2025.0.2

Hello, I'm using redshift in solaris for the first time and I'm having an anoying behaviour. I have my scene already setup and perfectly looking in the viewport IPR but when I render to a file it renders without any material. This also happens when I close Houdini and re open the file, the first viewport IPR render appears without materials, I have to go to OBJ context, launch a rendeview from there and then I can comeback to solaris and it back to render with all materials. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, could some body give me a hint on where could be the problem?

For some reason in Houdini 20.5 when I export my mesh to an alembic file the attributes doesn´t get exported.
I'm using alembic ROP with default options to export it but when I load that exported .abc none of the attributes appear.
Anyone has this behaviour?

I'm not talking about importing existing OBJ lights or cameras to use in LOPs, I'm talking about taking a scene made initially in OBJ and transfer its lights and cameras to LOPs as native solaris lights and cameras.

This is not a bug, groups are not cloned onto extruded parts. Use a point attribute for extrusions to inherit.
Well, then is needed to rewrite the help pop up of the Preserve Groups option. It says face and edge groups are preserved but only primitive groups are preserved.

Same here, but it also happens with a normal camera not linked to anything.
The "Apply Zoom to Background" resets every time I select or deselect the camera.
Very annoying.
