Hello,
As of October 4 2018 we adjusted our Houdini license agreement to allow for this;
Houdini-Indie-Engine licenses to computers in the cloud is permitted:

However, because the free Engine Indie licenses are still node-locked/workstation licenses, you will need to have a separate license server on each machine.

Apprentice format assets are not accepted into Unreal. You can convert your Houdini asset into Indie format using this online conversion tool:

An FX Artist designs and produces visual effects images and elements for feature films
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
● Design and produce visually stunning images and effects elements
for feature animation projects
● Bring a strong sense of composition, motion, scale, and timing to
effects assignments
● Achieve the visual goals sought by directors, production
designers, and supervisors
● Offer effective creative and efficient technical solutions to problems
● Implement FX systems developed by FX Developers and Artists into
production shots
● Stay current on department technologies and offer ideas to improve
the FX pipeline
● Demonstrate professionalism at all times within the workplace
*Essential Qualifications*
● Minimum 3-5 years production experience on high-end animation or
live action visual effects projects
● Solid understanding of Houdini or similar 3D effects software, and
its application to particle systems, fluid simulation, rigid body

● Solid understanding of Nuke or similar compositing package
● Solid understanding of the physical dynamics of natural phenomena
● Solid understanding of computer graphics and vector mathematics

● Ability to multitask and consistently meet deadlines

● Strong visual and problem-solving skills a must
● Scripting/programming experience (python, C++, etc.) a plus

If you are not seeing the H12.5 licenses that you think you should have, please contact Support@SideFx.com. Please let us know the name, or e-mail address, under which your H12.5 license was purchased. And also send in a License Diagnostic for your computer
To obtain diagnostic information, please open the license administrator, (from the Applications menu, under the Houdini folder), and go to View -> Diagnostic Information.
Support will work with you to get this problem solved!

In order for Side Effects to give you a letter, or formal job offer, they would have to prove to the Canadian government that they are unable to find a Canadian to do the job, (and obtain an HRDC number). This is not a reasonable claim to make for an intern position. This is the same process you would need to go through to hire a foreign worker in another country.

Here is your example with the static stick.
You need to join your 2 lines into 1, and then make it a wire object. Try and use the shelf tools as much as you can to set up your DOPs sim. If your wire is passing through the stick you will need to increase the substeps on the AutoDopNetwork node.

You can use a Convert SOP to convert your mesh object to a polygon. Then use a Wireframe SOP or PolyWire SOP.
If you are generating the sphere in Houdini you can just change the Primitive Type parameter to a polygon.
