Same happened on a freshly installed system. same setup. can only make the 18.0.391 work in maya 2020.4

I installed the engine with the regular houdini installer ( checking the option to install houdini engine for maya).
I had the older 18.0.348 HE plugin installed in maya before installing the new houdini/HE version.

Hi,
I just installed 19.0.531 and i cant get the plugin loaded in maya 2020.4 windows.
I installed houdini to the default suggested location.
if i try to load the plugin from the pluginwindow list i get this:
// Error: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2020/scripts/others/pluginWin.mel line 317: Unable to dynamically load : C:/Program Files/Side Effects Software/Houdini 19.0.531/engine/maya/maya2020/plug-ins/houdiniEngine.mll
The specified procedure could not be found.

if i manually browse to the plugin and try to load it i get this.

Hi,
Im troubleshooting a HE maya asset that gets stuck in cook loop in maya. When you create the asset it works fine but for example reloading the maya scene gets stuck on cook.
I found out that it was caused by a sub-asset inside of the HE asset that had been brought in from separate hda lib. When i made a copy of the sub-asset to the same hda lib as where the HE maya asset was located it started to behave steady.
Is this expected behaviour?

Hi,
when i connect output of one hda to an input of another, maya instantly crashes. Ive tried this with couple different hdas and i always get the same result. In unity connecting these assets work as expected.
Im on windows 10
Houdini 16.5.536
Maya2018.5

Hi,
i have fairly simple houdini asset in unity that generates new geo based on input geo from unity.
It works nicely but i have to manually click the recook to update the assets output after moving the input object. Is there a way to force update on transform change? Having “transform change triggers cooks” doesnt help it.
Also changing one of the exposed parameters makes the asset recook.
Im using Houdini 16.5.536 and Unity 2018.3.0f2 on Windows.

For updating the new geometries under the group, could we have a away to force rereading the inputs? a button to refresh them? If not i wouldnt mind even if i had to reconnect the input. It would still be much handier than other approaches.
Name attribute sounds like a very good way to go.
Obviously being able to return a hierarchy from houdini back to maya would be great and it would open new possibilities but in my case i would be just happy if i could get them in

What im really needing is ability to input multiple meshes into one input. Ideally i would be able to input either a group that contains multiple meshes or a set.

after checking your otl i realized that my object merge node was using absolute paths to fetch from another geo:
“/obj/subnet1/originalGeo/OUT_geo”
changing it to relative fixed the original problem:
“../../originalGeo/OUT_geo”
i guess thats a basic thing to remember in otl/hda

Hi,
I have a houdini asset that has two geometry objects. In the other one im using objectMerge node to fetch mesh from the other Geometry object but it doesnt seem to evaluate at all in unity.
Im new to unity and houdini engine so this might be user error.
What could be wrong?
