I'm trying to figure out a way to get the SOP solver to deal with attributes generated by an attribute transfer but when I import the SOP with a static object DOP, all the custom attributes and @Cd get stripped. Any tips?

I think the best place to get support for the plugin is on Pixar's RenderMan forum. I have it working fine making lights and shaders and all that on macOS but there are some stability issues with IPR in the release version.

Just note that if you want to have the EGPU used for OpenCL operations, you need to set it in the Miscellaneous options in the Houdini prefs and relaunch. It will use that GPU from then on

I have a trig function driving displacement in an AttribVop so it's perfectly symmetrical but when I look at the curvature created from the measure SOP, it's not consistent. See attached. This seems to always be the case with the measure SOP so I'm not sure if I'm the weak link here or not.

I have this issue with geometry that has Ptex on it getting garbled once I merge the objects, even though individual elements render fine:

back when the Maya version was out of date, I wrote a script to do a similar thing just by dragging and dropping exported OBJ files onto the ZBrush app in macOS since that imports the mesh. I don't know what sort of interop you need but that type of thing is easy to write for Houdini since you just make a drag and drop of your geo the post-render script action. Try the attached scene – it works for me. You might need to change your path to ZBrush in the geometry ROP's script since I'm using floating license version that has a different path

there's a render log for the job. Most often it's a permissions problem since the hquser doesn't have write permission to the share.

I've created another floating window to view the scene but when I template an object, it only appears in the original viewport. Wondering what I'm doing wrong here.

I'm wondering if there are newer builds of Houdini Engine for Cinema 4D that support H16.5? It seems like there's a separate cadence of releases for C4D that's lagging quite a bit so maybe this is something more on the Maxon end.

Hey, Just going to add to the noise here… It's so damn frustrating! My wacom has been acting out lately as well and I was still using Sierra! I just updated to high sierra yesterday in hopes of better support but nothing! Even with the new drivers it's still finicky and I can't tell whose fault it is anymore.
It's the Wacom driver. Use version 6.3.15-3 if you can. There are some regressions with 3D apps and middle mouse click after that driver.

It works a lot better for collision since you can have things skate over the surface naturally that wouldn't work for vdb method

feels like a basic thing but I'm not sure how to get a series of points from a single emitted particle's position over time and create a curve from the points.
