it renders fine for me too when test rendering single frames, but when i launch a sequence it stops at random frames. (linux)
on xp i get random crashes even with single frames, also render region crashes too

Hi!
Actually I tried H9 on Ubuntu 64bit and mantra crashes too (tried two PC setups, AMD 4400 and Intel quad core), it starts to become a really annoying issue, multithreaded rendering simply crashes on xp and linux 64 too.
Tried the -j0, -j4, turned off the “use max processor” checkbox on mantra node.
The only reliable way was to render with single processor, or using -n 4, but that is way too expensive.
Any chance for fixing this in near future?

if you've put down a mantra render node, make sure You also put down a camera, since the mantra node has set cam1 as default camera.

hi!
Another simple solution is to emit particles from prim centers at frame 1 and copy your geo to those points.
Use impulse birth and use nprims() in birth rate fields, disable inherit velocity
however particles will not stick if You animate the geo.
cheers

A very small thing, but the reflective shader from the material palette has no shading layer node conected to uv, thus texture mapped to color is messed up

I just tried it and it worked, then maybe try to render on 1 processor only if You have more

try, put down a camera (cam1), since newly created mantra nodes have a cam1 hooked up by default

I know that -n gives a “shock”. Also I try here always the latest build.
Will give -j a go, thanks for input.

I have this problem too, multiple cores, mantra crashes all the time.
I'm turning off the max threads and set mantra -n 4, so this way 1 core renders 1 tile. It's fine this way just a bit annoying.

hi!
Is there a node based distance calculation?
I mean this is very simple too, using the distance expression, just want to find various ways doing this in H.
