I got it now. I used to connect the node without filling the target fields, which eventually did not have info to tell the node how to act with the constraint. Unlike sop level node the node in dop level has one input.

I am still experimenting with Vellum cloth using Dop network. But I cant figure a way to set Attach to Geometry node in the network.
Would anyone advise about this ?

I did a cloth simulation and it worked perfect and fast in H18!
The problem I have these days is adding materials and textures to the cloth after the simulation. I add the materials as normal materials node, but it displays as black textures. I added unpack and normal nodes before the materials node, but still nothing working.
Would like to know how to solve this ?

That's awesome man! Thank you. I am not sure that there's an issue with the geo I imported maybe because something has to do with vellum cloth which I finished first.
Anyway, to get things together after simulation, I am planning to merge the blasted items, body and simulated hair together in one geo. I am open for suggestion is this regard.

Looks like something is wrong with Skin Collisions. If you untick that, the hair falls down like it should.
I think there is something wrong with the mesh, but I will investigate further.

I've been working with Hair Character for a while now. I imported the character as bego file, then did the grouping the of skull cap for hair to groom.
Everything was ok, but when I start the simulation I ended up with the hair pointing up ?! I do not know why?!
When I import the character as an Agent from FBX. The simulation works perfectly!
I am attaching my hip file.

This is a bug. The groom tools create attrib paint now, but to script is trying to set a parm from the old paint node.
Submit the issue to support using the bug submission form.

Well, I contacted the support and they told me that Paint node has been deprecated and replaced with Attribute Paint.
Although, I am not sure to configure my workflow to use Att Paint to paint the hair, but I am sure it will take me couple of weeks to figure it out.
If someone is reading this and have an idea, please share (:

Ok, something weird is going on. The paint node is not available, and maybe that is why I am not able to Skin Attribute.

Using the groom tool for hair and trying to lift it using the lift node. I can't paint the lifting area on the skull and I receive this message:

I am still experimenting with Vellum. During the simulations I got pointy sharp points at the constraints target.

Can you please upload you scene ?
Using Alembic ? I think you can export the hair then parent it in your main 3D application if I am understanding your question correctly.

I opened your scene
first i noticed you were inside a Take , so i couldn't change any value
so when i get back to the main Take i noticed you were only using a vellum distance constraint
that not the one you want for Cloth , choose Cloth instead !
Thanks a million for the support and help I will be using the file you attached a base in my future simulation.
One thing I noticed is that if I delete the take the animation will be removed too. I am trying to figure it out now and can use some help.

So I've been testing the solver for a while and I am getting these kind of results which are far away from “cloths”. It happened with me so far in my last 3 attempts with different models. I am also attaching hip in case someone wants to take a look at.
