but i confused when i working by point clouds vex nodes.
can everybody help me or do a sample and upload?

hi everyone.
i use pump relationship for a fluid system in DOP, is there anyway to adjust the intensity or power of pumping?
and another question which is not relevant, in Maya when rendering done the render time is show in bottom of render screen, can i have same thing in Houdini?

i want to create a group of points that i view in each frame or a group of points that are in front of camera.
does Houdini have a tools or trick to do that?

so, i confused again, i think i don't understand ptnum correctly.
i upload a simple code. i want to loop between all neighbours of each point and print each neighbour id in console.
but Houdini for each neighbour, loop between all points and print neighbour (n) of each point.
i want this:
(for each point, loop between all neighbour step)
pt 0 neighbour 0 is x
pt 0 neighbour 1 is y
pt 0 neighbour 2 is z
pt 1 neighbour 0 is x2
pt 1 neighbour 1 is y2
pt 1 neighbour 2 is z2
.
.
.
.
but Houdini print this:
(for each neighbour step, loop between all object points)

but i found what is my wrong.
in inline, Houdini does loop in points that i didn't know that.
my code did loops in points too, and this double loop make me confused.

i know add attribute node, but i think in scripting method, result are better an efficient.
i new in houdini (switch from maya).
in maya i wrote my programs with python and mel, but in vex i found strange things that i don't understand and confuse me.
i think VEX functions give me a lot of good abilities to do anything in my mind.
But first, i must more familiar with VEX Language.

hi, in vex inline node i want to set a point attribute to my value.
i use addattribute(“attribute name”, “point number”, “value”);
but in result, that is create a new attribute with same name and set my value to that.
where is my problem.

I add “HOUDINI_CONSOLE_LINES = 1024” in houdini.env on my document.
but that doesn't work.
when i query variables with “hConfig -a”, HOUDINI_CONSOLE_LINES = 256.
where is my fault.

hi.
i have a problem with houdini console.
in vex code i have printf function that prints a lot of lines. but houdini console doesn't keep all the lines and after printing, first lines are gone.
is there anything like low buffer or something like that is causing this?
how can i solve this problem?

okay, my problem solved but i don`t know how and what was my problem.
i just delete Houdini folder in my document and let Houdini to make new initialize.

no, I'm working on xp sp3.
i think same as you, but permission for what? if i know what permission exactly need, i can right that to my account.
i had same problem in rendering with depth map shadow. in default if i not save my scene, Houdini write shadow maps on Drive C root that i don`t have permission to that, by saving file, $HIP changed to my directory and my problem solved.
but in this situation, i don`t know what permission needed.
