Hi all,
does anyone have experience working with real time midi between Houdini and music software?
Trying to understand how to get a signal out and make sure the timing doesn't drop.
- I can successfully output note data Ch1n60 etc into Reason and Ableton
- but Controllers escape me, trying Ch1cc0, ch1c7.. nothing
Any help much appreciated.

I'm trying to find a tutorial on creating an ordered menu and a series of mutually exclusive toggles.
Also how do you use toggle to set a switch node to a specific value?

Hi there,
I'm not a coder, but looking to create a row of toggles with only one being on at any one time.
Can't seem to find a resource which goes through the parameter interface creation option at a time.
Not sure how this was done but it's brilliant - how to create those teal icon buttons?

Hi all,
Question/Request:
Is there an 'Export network view as JPG' script or short cut?
I'm re-visiting a 5 year old project and looking to export a view of all the networks before redesigning them for a VR pitch.
I'm have several past projects with large networks that also can't be easily screen-grabbed at 100% resolution. The whole network just wouldn't fit on screen and I need to see a readable ‘big picture’.
I'd like to be able to print the network view at A1 architectural size sheet and hang it on the wall for easier overview and analysis as well as for making notes etc.

Hiya, I'd like be able to paint inside of houdini and use ps3 camera and move controllers if possible. Is there a way?
Or a better way?

Hiya,
I'm new to VR, which settings to use for 360 youtube videos please? Is it possible to just have a 360 Camera setting to make things super efficient please, thank you.
Also resolution wise, I heard that Indie/Apprentice rez is not enough for vr 360 is that so? If that's the case then indies are cut out of the vr revolution! Noooo!

Hi guys,
Any guidance on this very very much appreciated!
Trying to import a simple houdini blendshape into Unity with FBX but nothing is displayed under Skin Mesh Renderer like with Blender or Max.
I'm going to object level selecting the object > file > Export > Filmbox FBX and navigating to the object in ‘source objects’ dialog.
Am I missing something? Need to know if this is a dead end so I can focus on finding a work around.

I'm stuck on this one too. Hope the pros can give us a pointer - no tutorials and videos that i can find. Seems like a pretty big feature for animation in general.

Hi all,
I'm just wandering if it is possible to combine Volume Material, as demonstrated in Houdini 11 Mantra Masterclass http://vimeo.com/15198448 [vimeo.com] at 1hr03mins, with other standard material properties - especially Displacement. Reflection/refraction and maps would be amazing.
I used this material during Houdini Cook-Off competition. Could its functionality be extended at all? One work around I thought of would be to use a Mountain Sop at the moment. And the only way I figured out to get reflections/refractions is through compositing.
