The previous builds 391 and 392 was super buggy for me.
First try in 939 and I could get a render out by doing the same as jsmack.
Render to disk, with Variance set to Uniform, and 256 samples. Nothing else.
Doing this test from home on Apprentice, so I can't push the render size any higher, to test.

Good the hear. Thanks.
The head I rendered was scaled down 0.01 as well, but would it have made a difference if the object was scaled in Obj level instead of in Solaris?

What's the rendertime different between Random Walk SSS and Multi SSS?
They are both equally slow to clean up, but Random Walk SSS does make it worth it.
I did not check render times as I fired them off before I went to bed.

Thanks DaJuice.
Here is a quick re render with OCIO transform working in the latest build.
The random walk SSS seams to retain details much better. I am a very happy man.

Yes, that is the new Random Walk.
It is a bit over saturated, because I was too lazy to convert the textures(Aces),
but it works…if Karma does not crash on me every two minutes.

Hi,
I'm getting allot of black pixel artifacts in Karma renders. What is the correct way to deal with this?
Here is a test with the new Random Walk SSS shader. HDRi from HDRiHaven.

Yes. It was in a Solaris pre-release video as part of an Q&A section. I will see if I can find it, but if they added it
in 18.0.387, it should answer your question.
Technical Discussion » Velocity Blend in Guide Simulate?

Vellum Velocity Blend is fantastic, but for some reason this does not apply to Vellum hair simulation.
Why?
I have a character sitting in a plane. She is moving really fast, but because of Velocity blend, her cloth sim looks fantastic.
Her hair not so much.
Can anyone or Sidefx please explain why this would not be available in the pin constrain…or any idea how to get this to work would be super helpful.

Oh, I thought you wanted to flatten all on y.
How about this. Same process as before, but align the handle with ; hotkey to the last point.

You can try to use scale.
1. Select the points and press e to scale
2. Switch on point snapping
3. disconnect the pivot by using the ‘ hotkey.
4. Snap the scale handle to any of the point positions to scale from.
5. hit ’ again to accept the pivot position

This is soooo cool animatrix! Well done mate.
Not to take away from your income, but I think this should be built in to Houdini as an option…for the Network Editor, as well as curves from the animation Editor.
