Just add two extra image planes in a standard Mantra ROP in the Properties > Output tab. There are a list of default exports you can choose from the right hand menu on the VEX Variable parameter for each export you add.
One export, choose Pz for depth pass.
Other export, choose N for normal pass.
Both should use the Pixel Filter “Closest Sample Filtering” returning minmax min and set to 32 bit float output. The minmax min filter will ensure that there is no filtering at geometric edges which will introduce errors when you use these in compositing operations.

You need an instance of GeometryViewport to call setCamera, it's not static. I think the full expression is something like this:
hou.ui.paneTabOfType(hou.paneTabType.SceneViewer).curViewport().setCamera(hou.node(“/obj/cam1”))
You can also execute hscript commands from Python:
hou.hscript(“viewcamera -c cam1 *.*.world.persp1”)

but in my case.i creatd the camera through script and when the script is executed i want the camera to look through it rather than typing the script again.
is there any way for that?

Hey hi.
I have created a dop sim inside the sop.I dont find any dopimports attached in the sops
and also I am able to see my simulation correctly when i go inside the dop network and play the sim,it plays perfectly.how to set it up for render.
could somebody give some solution

First see if you haven't inadvertently overrode the default asset definition for the Subnet node. MMB (Middle Mouse Button) on the node and see where it is defined. If it is in your home directory, you obvioiusly overrode the definition. If it says in your Houdini install directory, you still may have overrode the asset definition…
Check in your home houdini version directory. I wonder if you made an overriding asset definition for the Subnet Object in the otls directory. If you accidentally RMB on the Subnet at one point and chose “Edit Operator Type Properties” on it, changed it and pressed apply, either you overrode the actual definition in the houdini install directory if you have permissions allowed or in your home houdini version otls directory.
If it is the former and you overrode the asset definition in the houdini install houdini directory, a backup directory would have been made for the original asset. Just move that to the original position.
If it is in the local directory, just blow away the otl directory.

I have messed up with type properties settings and now whatever nodes i make it as a subnet.all i got is one subnet which i have made long back.i think i have messed something with opcustom.otl please guide me and help to resolve this

Hi i have been doing research on cracks and till now i found that only cracks can be created using cookie surfsect curvesect sops.could anybody tell me how to produce cracks in random surfaces and also some other sops that can be used to produce cracks apart from the above mentioned

The $HOME/houdini11.0 directory is the one in cUsers/<username>/houdini11.0. Is that what you deleted?

Try moving aside (or deleting) your $HOME/houdini11.0 directory, and see if that fixes the issue.
now houdini doesnt even open. now im downloading that again
