I have a problem when doing forEach SOP.
I want to make the each Geos changes color when collisions happen.
plz see attachment. I want it works like SOP “color1” by using forEach SOP when I have more Geos need to be considered.
does anyone know whats the problem now? my setting or expression ?

In your example, put an Add sop below each of the “objects” and turn on “Delete Geometry But Keep Points”.
Just to clarify though, these are not Objects ( in Houdini ) they are Primitives inside a single Object.
thank you. that does work, but what if I just want each single point to represent each Primitives, then how can I do it ? like 4 points represent 4 primitives

How to create points that represent objects in SOP?
just like the DopImport SOP node have an option called “create points represent objects.”
For example, the there are 4 objs in the attachment file,and how can I create points that have the same movement as the objs?

each SOP has an appendant help page where the local variables are listed, if there are any.

do u mean help btn on the top right coner of parameter tab ? it just shows the default local variables. what if I use attributeCreate node to create some attributes, how can I see them ?
I check the extened operator window too, but it just shows the attributes, not local variables…
see if I check the detail list and want to use the attributes called life, how can I do? like $LIFE1 ????

is there a thing called local variables sheet in Huodini? or how can I check all the local variables I can use in each node?
For example, in POP net, each particle has a attribute called life, life..
lifeseems is their current life time, and life is the total life time. How can I deal with them if I dont know there is a local variable called $LIFE?

this is what I want. Do you know why the color node doesn't take local Attr. ? Actually, in the same file, I did another color node (color2) to make the ramp take the color form POP/ color, and it does! that is the part really confuse me. if you can check it, that would be very help!! thank you again !!!!!

hi thank you, but this cant do the effects I want. I want to change particles color by time, so I use color - ramp Node to do it. however, the particle just cant get the color form grid. does anyone know why ?

I made particles inherit colors form a picture, then I wanted to make them fade into another colour. I use color node in POP, Ramp. set the first point color as this - “point(”../image/null/“, $PT, ”Cd“, 0)” -
it works if I use color node to color a gird instead of a image.
anyone knows why ?

I just create a simple DOP, I am always wondering is there any way to speed up this kind of simple simulation. And by the way, The boxes on the top are always jiggling. I put a RBDautoFreez node there too, but it seems not work well when the scene just start.

Thanks, but all points will move in the same direction in the both way. I want points move randomly on the sphere with different direction and speed. is there any way to do it?

I wanna emit particles form .tga image with alpha channel, but if I just import the image and the transparence part seems become white. How can I emit particles with the image color and not keep the mask(alpha) part clean?
by the way, in the attachment file, I also tried to kill particles with white color, but it always keeps some of them there. anyone knows why?
