The point group have to cover a at least a promitive. Fur is generated on the primitive. The local fur is done like the file. You just delete the points that are not part of the group.
Good luck

This is a file where a sphere is hitting the ground. On the first impact it turns white and stays that way. So basically you could use that information for other things.

Then you can download all the python/houdini videos

Either use Quicktime Pro and load the file sequence or any other 2d program that can handle file sequences. Or there is a program in the houdini/bin folder which is a commandline program mcp which converts to a movie file.
But you can't render out to a movie file.

Go into four-split view. Hover the mouse over the viewport you want to have an background image in. Press D button and choose “Background” tab.
Choose the file that you want to be displayed. Untick the “Apply operations to all split views” close the window and hoover over next viewport and repeat.
Hope you understand

Including a scene with a simple setup. You have to have a atmosphere OBJ and use any of the mantra atmosphere shaders.
You have to drag the shader from the SHOP level to the field where you should put in the shader in the Atmosphere OBJ.
Hope it does work

Do you have the textures on an shared volume with the same setups on all machines?
You have to create the shadowmaps the same way, a shared volume.
The best test is to run houdini on the renderfarms and see if they find the textures and that they have the right permissions to generate shadowmaps.
We have an NFS volume that everybody mount at the same spot on the localmachine and renderfarms. All setups, textures, otl etc, are on the same place, works brilliant. Linux of course!
Good Luck

You add an File DOP in the end of the dop network.
You put it on write and name the file something like particlestate.sim
scroll to the frame you wish to be the start and stop.
Disconnect the File DOP as it already has been written to disk.
Go out to obj level and browse to the sim file In the DOP Network>Initial State
Sending the new file wich works.

Hi
I belive that I downloaded a tutorial maybe 2 years ago with David Gray
with him explaining how you split a grid with the use of a voronoise vex shader.
Does anybody remember this and have somewhere.
Many Thanks
Jens M
