Hey all,
This ay be very simple but I made a stone leaf that I want to have copied along a curve I made, but i want to use the poly extrude to control the width of it,is there a way to create a stamp input for the extrusion so each leaf would be effected differently ?

Hey all,
I wanted to get the advice of more experience Houdini users on this subject, Iv been watching a bunch of tutorials on how to create rocks in Houdini, But I am trying to create something similar to the image I attached. My questions is does anyone know a good tutorial I could use to create something like it? All the tutorials I have found show how to make more round like rocks or not as detailed , and I'm not getting the results I want when I try to the heighfeild tools. Or would sculpting it be my better option?
best,
vish

Hey guys might be a very simple issue,
I'm using an HDRi image with the Arnold Skydome.
I currently have a . hdri image in for the color tab.
how do I make it so the HDRI texture doesn't render but just the color information it gives?
I'm currently getting the texture in the render as well
best,
Vish

Hey guys,
this may or may not be an easy fix?
I exported and .abc out of maya to bring into houdini, but when I import it the UVs are missing?
I brought the same file into maya and the UVs are there. Is there something I'm missing or do I need a specific UV node?

thank you very much John!, currently there is only present for the auto rig system, that does not include eyes or the ability to move the mouth, would I be able to attach a head component to the node labeled head hook and use that as the anchor point or would that mess with the auto skinning node?

Hey All,
I really wanted to learn more about the auto-rigging tools in Houdini, is there a tutorial that shows how to add muscles to an auto rig? I'm very new to it so I'm not even sure of how to use them properly. Iv looked around but the only tutorial I could find is from Houdini 14 but it didn't show how to actually use muscles

I'm sorry I used the wrong terminology, but yes essentially I want all the boxes to become one primitive. I tried to use the poly extrude with the box instead but I was not getting good results

Hello,
I'm have issue with the fuse node, so I have curve and used the sweep node to create boxes along it to make a path but I'm unable to fuse the vertex with the fuse sop could anyone let me know what I'm doing wrong? Iv attached a sample of the issue I'm having. The fuse is connecting the points but it is not merging them.

Hey all,
So I made this character in Z brush a while back and I wanted to try to bring him to life using Houdini
I posed a bunch of questions on the TD forum about everything from rigging to pyro
A very big thank you to everyone on the forums who took the time to post suggestions and advice!
here is what i have so far I want to push him even further to make him look closer to my high poly mesh out of Zbrush
I hope you enjoy!

The attachment is the high poly zbrush version
He was rigged using Houdini 14
and then the simulations were done in 15.5

Thankyou very much,
but I realized the issue the contraint setting was incorret, once adjusted it started working, so instead of the static obect, i made it a deforming object and it worked as it should

Hey all,
Im having a bit of an issue with fur rendering
So when I just render the fur node, it renders perfectly fine but when I render using the autodop network I created with the add dynamics option, the furr now looks like large stands of geo, Is there a setting Im forgetting to use?
I think it has to do wiht the scale but im not sure how I would changes the scale of the dynamic guides
I have attached images of the issus attached
Im in houdini 15.5.6 I currently have to use this version as it is what my school uses
If there is any adivce on this please let me know

Technical Discussion » Cloth Sim Question

Hey all,
I had a question about cloth simulation with a rigged character
So I was able to sucessfully pin/sim clothing to the skin node of my deform rig that was created from the houdini auto rig and made it work with collisions, however it does not move along with the character. The sim looks like the chracater is standing still and not moving along with it
The same thing happened when I attached the cloth to the proxy geo located in the animation rig.
So what i think is happening is it the source for the simulation is calling the correct source which is the skin,
however it is calling it before the rig has actually issued the comands for movment
I tried using the actaul rig as the source, but that broke it
Any advice would be well appriciated
im currenlty using houdini 15.5.6

Hello all,
Im not sure if this is very eary or very difficult but,
I created fur in zbrush and expoerted the curves into zrbsuh and also aniamted a character to walk around,
how would I attach the hair to the body of my character? I know next to nothing about rigging or dynamics Im kind of learning as I go with this pipeline.
Thankyou very much in advance!

Hello,
I am trying to figure out the proper way to export a character rig from Houdini
I created the rig from a tutorial on digital tutors using the auto rig and muscles.
The rig works fine in Houdini, but im not sure how to export it if I wanted to use it in a program like Motion Builder
currently
in my Houdini file there is
the OBJs
The autoRig
The animation rig
The deform rig
is there a tutorial that will show the correct workflow to export the right FBX ?
