digitallysaneJustin BloomerEach bone should have the rotations baked.
Hello digitallysane,
Would I have to bake all the channels for each InverseKin?
But normally the bones themselves read their rotations from the InverseKin (see the Kinematic Solver parameter on each bone) on each frame.
So on the InverseKin CHOP, un-check “Single Frame” on Channel tab and then set the Export flag on the node (all this makes sense if your kinematic chain is animated).
Back to your bones, you'll see that they now have Rotations exported from CHOPs.
In the Animation Editor, make sure that View>Draw CHOP Exports is checked.
Select all segments in the Channel Editor then Edit>Bake Keyframes…
Check everything and at the bottom choose Bake, Disable… or whatever is useful for you.
Thanks Dragos
I was just doing this and that helped
now I need to automate this maybe write a script to do it
Have you done anything like that ?
thanks again

Yes, you can use the engine with your Houdini Indie license
If you want to run ONLY the engine in OTHER computers you can just buy the engine version.
HOUDINI ENGINE PLUG-INS
Your Houdini Indie license can be used to run Houdini Indie in batch mode or to load Houdini Digital Assets into other content creation apps such as Autodesk® Maya,® Cinema 4D , and 3DS Max® , or game editors such as Unity® and Unreal® . Houdini Digital Assets can be accessed from the Orbolt Smart 3D Asset store or created in Houdini Indie for sharing with other artists.

cmiVFX Releases Brand New Houdini INK FX Ultra Class Video
The Leaders In High End Video Training For The Visual Effects Industry
Princeton, NJ (July 7th, 2014) New for this season, cmiVFX brings you a brand new and improved Houdini INK FX system. The Ink In Water effect is a classic amongst artists and scientists alike. Usually, the definition of Ink In Water is pretty self explanatory, however this time we will show you the easiest way for Houdini to tackle this effect. The truth, as we like to call a well done effect, is something that each person can master on their own personal style, yet Houdini can assist with this uniqueness due to the amount of data it can handle. Come see how awesome the power of Houdini really is while finally learning a very popular, and commercially viable effect shot.
Short Description
Houdini is no stranger to rendering large amounts of geometry, there for, the ink in water effect that we are going to develop will yield about about 27 million particles without skipping a beat. Naturally, Houdini can handle even more and you will learn how to deal with such large amounts of geometry even if you do not have the best computer resources at your disposal.

Hi
I'm getting this weird behavior after I installed Houdini 13
the ctrl key is just not working for Houdini, it works ok in the rest of the system just not Houdini, not even in my 12.5 install anymore, used to work after installing H13, doesn't work on any version of Houdini, is weird
I'm on Windows 8.1 64
anyone got something similar ?
thanks

Hi guys
I have a python SOP with a few things on it,
all those things are different functions that I want to
trigger with buttons, so how do I do it?
I know that in a regular HDA I use hou.phm().hello() for example
but for the Python SOP that doesn't work cause the code is NOT in the
same place.
see the image as an example
clicking the button will run hello() function
THanks

viewtype -t ortho_top varomix01.panetab1.world
viewhome -s varomix01.panetab1.world
line 1 changes to top ortho view
line 2 homes the selection
make another tool for right, persp, and even uv if you like
power to HScript, python meeeh (This feature is not yet implemented) hehehe
just gotta replace that desk name with the current one
nice progress, cooool
cheers!!

ok, silence, sooo
let's say I want to put this functionality into a tool in the shelf and then add a shortcut to that.
something like
command will be
pseudo code:
viewport.right()
viewport.homeSelection()
it's that possible?, I know hou.GeometryViewport.homeSelected() exists but how to I change to the right, top, persp cameras?
thanks

Hi guys
now that we have a new viewport and all that fanciness
I'm wondering if this is possible
if I have a selection and switch to top view using space+2 my view
shows all the visible elements in my scene, and then I have to press space+g to home into where I was, if I go to side view, same thing.
so, is there a way to stay focused on the selection?
added a video to better explain my point.
